Bio: Hi, my name is Michelle and I have been living with Lupus for over 16 years of my life along with Membranous Glomerulonephritis (though I was diagnosed only 13 years ago). After being diagnosed and extensively treated during a rough period, my diseases went into remission for about 10 years or so. Though I still lived with the constant pain, two Morton's Neuromas that developed, inflammation and exhaustion, I realize now (as well as back when I was diagnosed) that I took my excellent health for granted. I enjoy photography, creating things, I have a side business making jewelry (bead and gemstone bracelets, necklaces, leather necklaces/ bracelets, wire rings, earrings, custom made, etc.) & hoping to expand in the future, drawing, making videos, playing & listening to music, travelling, writing, paddle boarding, boogie boarding, kayaking, admiring the raw beauty of nature that surrounds me, learning new things, spending time with my "baby" (Shih Tzu/ Poodle) Mia, and teaching her tricks. If physically possible, I love hiking, cycling along the coast of Kaua'i, Bikram Yoga, working out, snowboarding, zip lining, and swimming. I have not been able to do these things in quite a while and also haven't been able to work on my jewelry business due to my health issues (but am planning to put my Etsy shop back up and start making new items within this month of March '14), and am looking forward to the day that my diseases decide to go back into remission so that I can at least partially "live" again. However, lately something has inspired me and I have been more creative and doing things that I love. I started to draw and write again, as well as play my guitar and keyboard.

Thank you. πŸ™‚ I find your blog inspiring as well. Can I include you in the nominees or is not allowable because you were already nominated? I’m new to all of this. I read yours and wouldn’t expect you to answer more questions about yourself. πŸ™‚

You are brave enough to share your experience. It makes the solitary life a little less alone to know that there are others who experience the same thing. I’ve never shared that aspect of my life yet.

Hi there. I’ve been meaning to update my blog since I’ve been out on leave from work again since September but have been very busy. I finally reopened my Etsy shop and started to make new jewelry & am working on a few new projects. It really helps keep my mind off of things, is something that I enjoy doing, & something that I can possibly do in place of my job if I work hard on it. It would be nice to work for myself & make my own hours due to my health. I forgot how much I enjoyed making jewelry since almost a year had gone by that I stopped. So in September I ended up in the ER one morning shortly after arriving to work. Luckily I have good co-workers that look out for me because I kept insisting that I was okay. They called my doctor over & he ordered an EKG & stat labs. He intercepted us on the way to the lab and told me that I had some worrisome EKG changes & he wanted me to head over to the ER instead. They spoke to my Cardiologist as well & he wanted me to be admitted for at least one night- until we could do a treadmill exercise. I forgot what it was called- maybe a stress test? They had also mentioned possibly having to fly me to another island which would have been serious. Luckily I was discharged later on after the test. My doctor wanted me to stay out for at least three months or the end of the year. I wanted to go back sooner but I haven’t been feeling well & there was another issue. I’ll blog about it later. I’m not sure exactly what happened or how serious it was or was not. A part of me thinks it couldn’t have been serious because I was discharged the next day but then my doctor wanted me to stay out so long. I am due to return to work around November 24th but I’m not sure if I’m ready yet. I’ve had a chest cold (?) again for the 4th time this year & I’ve had it for about a month now. Sometimes it’s difficult to breathe. I know that when I was in the ER my Potassium was really low but as of my last lab work about 3 weeks ago, everything was back to the normal range. I’m worried about all of this and everyone is telling me that I should go out on disability but so far I’m refusing. It was very nice of you to send me a message, it really touched me. I need to read your blog to see how you are doing. I hope you are doing well. I want to read more of your travel blog posts. πŸ™‚ How are you doing? You are one of my favorite bloggers & I always hope & wish only the best for you and your kitty. πŸ™‚

    Hey friend,

I would like to let you know that I enjoy reading your blog so much that I nominated you for the Encouraging Thunder award. I know some people find these dreary or time consuming and so I will not be offended if you choose only to acknowledge this recognition to yourself but you may follow through on it as well if you like.
